Sun Empire: Quest for the Founders (Part I) (C) Copyright 2003 - All Rights Reserved
As chief engineer of the Rosemon Genetics Institute on Rhiannon, you, Tangee Simone, oversee a large group of scientists working on uncovering the genetic secrets of the Kantenese race.
It is well known that the Kantans have a high disposition towards tolerance of a large number of diseases. Additionally, their culture adopted genetic manipulation early on accepting it is an acceptable practice of their medicine. Few negative side-effects have ever been documented by Kantan doctors in documentating their treatments.
Recently through advance genome typing, it has been uncovered that the genetic makeup of the Kantan race is a fusion of two separate and unique genomes. Genetic testing of the population at large has supported the theory that the original Kantan DNA has been modified through insertion of extra DNA from another race.
Wild with speculation, the Kantan and Jenti scientific communities have attributed the extraneous DNA to an ancient race simply named the "founders". It is said that the founders manipulated their own DNA into the Kantan race for some purpose long lost in time.
This has been the task to which you have worked five long years. You have already made a name for youself by definitively linking the founder DNA to the exceptional flexibility of the Kantan race to undergo genetic manipulation and withstand disease.
Your lab contains other uncovered surprises not disclosed to the public at large. Within a few short months, you will be able to document attributes certain DNA strands implement in the Kantan. Further, your research is beginning to link more than a single race touched by the founder genetic material.
Today is a Saturday. Though the Institute is officially closed, you've decided to come into the Institute and work. Yesterday, your team grew a new founder limb in the lab from a previously unstimulated section of Kantan DNA. You are anxious to run a comparative DNA analysis against previous tissue samples generated...

Control Room
Lit brightly with flourescent lights, windows surrounding the control room give an aerial view of the laboratory floor. Shiny, white tile floors contrast with the black tabletop that rings the room. Amid the clutter of documents on the tabletop is a computer workstation and vidcom. To the east is the exit to the control room patio. Mark is standing in the room with you.
