Just a few words before you begin your quest.
Although this is the third and final chapter of my “Camelot” trilogy you can still play without having played the other games (Camelot & Return to Camelot) the only advantage you’ll have if you have played the other games is that you should be familiar with the layout of the castle and a few hints to previous games. But it is nothing that will hamper you playing this game.
Try to picture yourself as a “tourist” visiting the ruins of Camelot and act accordingly (at least until things starts to happen) what I’m trying to say here is that you won’t be thrown straight into the game at the first command. Explore the castle and slowly things will begin to happen.
There may / will be directions you can go which is not shown on the map. So read the text carefully.
The story of Camelot, Arthur and Merlin, are combined by many different legends written through time, and some of the characters has been called different names. I have taken the liberty of using bits and pieces here and there to create this game. I have gathered information mainly from this site: http://www.kingarthursknights.com/ but also via google.
So if you're a fanatic Arthurian, I hope you'll forgive me.
The way to play the game is pretty straight forward. You use the usual compass directions to move around plus the occasional up, down, in and out where appropriate. In case you "lose" your way, typing "Exit" (without the quotes) will give you a list of visible exits from your location.
You'll find that if you wish to talk to some of the characters you meet on your quest, you'll get along with them much easier if you start the conversation by saying hello, or hi to them.
One point of interest. If you restart the game you will have to discover all the things again in order for them to work. For instance, if you've found a secret passage by looking at a map, you can't just go to that secret passage. You'll have to find the map and look at it again. (This is just an example, though)
If you are not familiar with playing text adventures, just type "ins" (without the quotes) and hit enter. This brings up a chart that should give you a pretty good idea on how to proceed.
Have fun.
