You jerk awake, head pressed up against the glass. The rhythmic clacking of the train on the tracks no longer soothes and relaxes, but drums into your head through the vibrating window.
Drawing your hand over your face, you glance at your watch. How long have you been asleep? It doesn't matter really. The train is still on the move, meaning that you have yet to reach your destination. Alcrow is the final stop and this is the last service of the night.
On a train
You are sitting on a window seat on a train to Alcrow. The electric display above your head rolls through the stops on the journey, while your body jolts in time with each clickity clack you hear. Behind you is the door to the next carriage. There is a newspaper casually discarded on the seat next to you, while your bag rests at your feet. Every now and then a light flashes past outside the window. You are alone in the carriage.
