Now on with your adventure to Castle Shadowpeak!
You are Loralang, famed knight of the realm of Tesslesar in the kingdoms of the free, and have won many wars and battles against all odds.
You are truly the realm’s champion, and favourite knight of the good King Henrious.
However, even with your great leadership on the battlefield, the tide is turning. These are dark times in Tesslesar. The undead hordes of the south are destroying everything in their path. The king’s wizards have tried everything to stop them, all to no avail.
This evening, your king sends for you and tells you that his wizards have come up with a plan to stop the undead armies from taking Tesslesar and all the kingdoms of the free.
"You, Loralang, will be only the second person to have been chosen by my wizards," he says, "The first was a wizard called Borantha, but there has been no word from him, and we fear the worst. So this time they have chosen a warrior. You must travel back in time to retrieve the golden sceptre of rulership before it is destroyed by the undead lord, Morac. You must destroy Morac and bring back the sceptre. Only then, when Morac is dead and the sceptre is in the rightful hands of a true king, will Tesslesar have the power to stop the destruction of the free kingdoms."
"Once you have arrived," the king continues, "look for the creature Fetlar. He was summoned by Borantha to help him in his task, so hopefully Fetlar will be able to help you."
"One last thing: the spell cast by the wizards to send you back in time has one big drawback. It will only work on a naked body, so you will have to travel back in time with nothing."
You feel a bit daunted with the "travel back in time with nothing" statement, but, after a bit of thought, you agree to loyally serve your king no matter what.
After all, nothing has proven too much for you so far.
You are shown a few tatty old maps of the area, dating back some thousand years.
The king’s wizards start their spell...
When the spell is cast, the king’s private chambers fade from view and are replaced with quite a different scene.
Type "look" to see the scene, and remember to type "tips" at any time, for tips on how to play the game.
Good luck...
Fetlar the overly fetid flies off.
